Plot Summary
Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It'll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Acest film spune povestea lui Balthazar Blake, un maestru intr-ale magiei care vrea sa salveze Manhattan-ul contemporan de planurile malefice ale lui Maxim Horvath, inamicul numarul unu al magului. Dandu-si seama ca nu-i poate face fata lui Horvath singur, Blake il recruteaza pe reticentul Dave Stuller, ii livreaza o doza soc de cursuri despre magie, si-l pune fata in fata cu adevarul gol-golut. Desi initial Stuller se trezenste volens nolens antrenat in intentiile "eroice" ale lui Blake, si desi pare sa fie absolutamente mediocru, isi dovedeste in cele din urma adevaratul potential magic. Astfel, cu un ucenic talentat si bine instruit, Blake este pregatit sa-l opreasca pe Horvath...
