Plot Summary

Dupa ce parintii ei Kim si Steve Miller au trecut printr-un divort urat, iar barbatul a plecat din New York pentru a locui in orasul Tybee Island din Georgia, adolescenta Veronica "Ronnie" Miller a ramas extrem de afectata si a refuzat sa-i mai vorbeasca tatalui sau. Desi canta la pian sub indrumarea lui Steve, el insusi pianist si profesor de muzica la Juilliard, rebela Ronnie a incetat sa mai exerseze la acest instrument si a preferat sa-si petreaca timpul distrandu-se cu prietenii ei. Atunci cand Kim Miller decide ca fiica ei trebuie sa plece in Georgia pentru a relua legatura cu tatal instrainat, Ronnie nu este deloc incantata si manifesta raceala si ostilitate in prezenta lui Steve, singurul lucru pe care il au in comun cei doi fiind pasiunea pentru muzica. In Tybee Island fata se indragosteste de atragatorul si popularul Will Blakelee si se impaca cu tatal ei, care este implicat in reconstructia unui vitraliu dintr-o biserica locala, opera de arta ce a fost distrusa intr-un incendiu.
