Plot Summary
An American girl discovers a love letter that changes her life in this romantic comedy starring Amanda Seyfried and Vanessa Redgrave. The setting is Verona, Italy -- the city where Romeo and Juliet first met. In Verona, there's a wall where the lovelorn leave notes, hoping that Juliet will answer their inquiries about love. Sophie (Seyfried) is part of a team of volunteers who respond to the letters. O tanara americanca aflata in vacanta in Italia se indragosteste de orasul Verona, devenit celebru datorita povestii de iubire damnate dintre personajele shakespeariene Romeo Montague si Julieta Capulet, alaturandu-se unui grup de voluntari ce raspund la scrisorile adresate de mai mult de 70 de ani Julietei. Atunci cand gaseste o scrisoare datata din anul 1951 si ramasa fara raspuns pana in prezent, fata este atrasa irezistibil de povestea femeii care isi cauta iubitul cu care a trait o idila pasionala cu multi ani in urma in timpul unei vacante petrecute in Italia si calatoreste prin Toscana cu scopul de a-l gasi pe barbatul misterios. Incurajand-o pe autoarea scrisorii sa nu renunte la speranta si sa-l caute pe barbatul pe care l-a iubit in tinerete, americanca declanseaza un lant de evenimente ce au drept consecinta gasirea dragostei adevarate atat de catre batrana, cat si de catre ea insasi.
